With recommendation of the Disclosure Office dated 19 November 2018, ABB Ltd was granted an exemption and easing provision from the obligation to disclose transactions in proprietary securities according to Article 120 para. 1 FMIA in conjunction with Article 15 para. 2 let. a and b when disclosing transactions in proprietary securities according to Article 24 para. 4 FMIO-FINMA, as follows. 1.) ABB Ltd was granted an exemption from the duty to (i) daily monitor its sale positions it holds in respect of its own shares in connection with its employee participation plans and (ii) if such sale positions it holds in respect of its own shares in connection with its employee participation plans exceed, fall below or reach the thresholds of 3% or 5%, to notify the Disclosure Office thereof and to publish (disclose) such notification within four trading days following such an event as per Article 24 para. 4 FMIO-FINMA. 2.) ABB Ltd was granted an exemption / easing provision allowing it to determine its sale positions it holds in respect of its own shares in connection with its employee participation plans once a month on the first trading day of every calendar month and if the sale positions it holds in respect of its own shares in connection with its employee participation plans exceed, fall below or reach the thresholds of 3% or 5% notify the Disclosure Office thereof and publish (disclose) such notification within four trading days following such event. The exemption / easing provision is granted until 19 November 2021
